Optician providing eye examinations, spectacles and contact lenses to suit all budgets
Our aim is to provide our local community with an easy to access eyecare service which is great value for money.
Having worked as an Optometrist in the area for over 15 years I felt there was a demand for new eyecare provision to serve the increasing population of the Wellington and Taunton area. Although there are some fantastic local opticians, it is not always easy for people to visit town centres.
In 2019 we stumbled upon what would end up being our new premises. We were looking for an out of town location with parking so that our patients could easily reach us without negotiating town centre traffic and parking. The old grade II listed public house called “The Crown” had been empty for some time and despite a number of different owners efforts it appeared that it’s current use was no longer viable. We were keen to see the building brought back to use with a nod to it’s heritage.
Hence we created “Crown Eyecare”, named after the building. When you visit you will see signs of the building’s past, we hope that this will keep the memory of the original use of the building alive.
We welcome you to come and visit and find out more about our eyecare, see our range of glasses and experience our service.
We would like to offer you the best eyecare we can for the best value we can. The ‘best’ options aren’t always the cheapest but noone wants to pay ‘over the odds’. We aim to cater for every budget and by explaining any possible upgrades for our services or products, allow you the choice to make your own decisions on your eyecare. We hope that, like us, you will see the benefit of more advanced tests or better designed products.
We are very concious of the need for all of us to make decisions with the environmental consequences and impact in mind. We have taken the following steps in this practice in view of this and will continue to make decisions and if necessary changes with this in mind.
- Paperless record system
- Where printed material is required we will use recycled media where viable.
